If all you’re packing in your gym bag is a protein shake it’s time to shake your sip up. Discover what Tanya Zuckerbrot, founder of the F-Factor Diet, packs when she hits the weights.
What’s in my gym bag?
1. F-Factor Water Bottle – This actually comes everywhere with me, not just to and from a workout. I recommend my clients drink 3 liters of water per day; water is especially important for F-Factor Dieters because of the high amount of fiber they consume (fiber needs water to work its magic!). This bottle keeps my water cold and holds about a half a liter – 1 during workout and 1 immediately after, 4 more to go!
2. Fiber sweatshirt – I always tell clients, let F-Factor be your cardio. Many rely on cardio to burn calories. On F-Factor, simply eating fiber burns calories. Fiber can’t be digested, so it revs metabolism- the more fiber you’re eating the more calories your body burns at rest. I don’t know about you but I’d rather eat fiber than spend more time on the treadmill…
3. Nike Air Zoom Strongs – I just got these and I’m obsessed. They’re the best training shoe on the market. I like to mix up my workouts to incorporate strength training and weight resistant activities so a shoe that is multi-functional—and looks chic—is necessary.
4. Bai – If I need pick-me-up before my workout, I turn to Bai. It has 10 calories and has caffeine so it gives me the little extra boost of energy needed, but because there’s only 1 net carb, I know it won’t spike my sugars, leaving me to crash post workout.
5. Assorted accessories – I always like to be prepared, so if the bag fits it…
6. Bandier gripper socks: Bandier’s gripper socks are great for any sans-sneaker workout (pilates etc) so you don’t slip.
7. Sunglasses: I like to keep a pair of sunglasses in different bags so I always have for walking outside—the sun’s rays can damage your eyes just as much as your skin! These are Chimi, from Bandier, they’re sporty and durable, meaning they won’t get crushed when they fall to the bottom of my gym bag.
